I had a cushy life sailing from port to port and catering to the elitists. My dad trained my sea legs before he died, and I took over the family drug business when I came of age.
But one thing after another happens, and my world is turned upside down and inside out. A woman appeared on my doorstep with a sick kid who looked just like my dead brother. A brother who should’ve been dead long before she was born. I’m falling for Jane, the fiery nurse caring for her. And a Faery straight out of my nightmares visits me and claims I must come to Neverland to take my father’s place.
Neverland. A faerytale. Gruesome legends my father told me to get me to behave and put me to sleep. It wasn’t supposed to exist. I’m learning quickly that I was wrong. It’s an even darker place than the tales my father told.
Now I must remember the rules he taught me as I navigate the ways of Neverland.

Shadow: A Dark Peter Pan Retelling
Returning to Neverland was never part of the plan.
“Do it. Always do it. Do it enthusiastically, or do it scared, but never show anyone here your fear. The island feeds off it.”
The Darlings never thought they would ever return to Neverland. It was a place that only lived in their nightmares and should remain that way.
Having been brought back against their wishes, they find the island populated with pirates and Fae, but no sign of Peter Pan. Learning the Fae have had free reign of the island for years, they discover their nefarious deeds have leeched over to London and must be stopped at all costs.
The Darlings partner with local pirates and the Natives, only to have the Fae kidnap one of their own. To rescue them, the trio must investigate deeper into the origins of Neverland, and their own histories on the island, before they all reach an untimely fate.
But the further the team delves into the legends and secrets of the island, the more dangerous it becomes, which leads them back to the question...
